The Bode City Council met in regular session July 11th at 5:30PM in the council chambers. The date was changed due to the 4th of July Holiday. Councilmembers Fulwider, Miller, and Hasfjord were present; absent Tepner and Rongved. Also, present Greg & Rebecca Tomko and several members from the Bode Fire department. Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order a motion was made by Miller, second by Fulwider to approve the agenda as posted. All ayes, motion carried. A motion was made by Miller, second by Hasfjord to approve the minutes from the previous meeting, all ayes. Motion carried.

Members from the Fire Department approached the council concerning the Fire Siren; following discussion a motion was made by Fulwider, second by Miller to have the siren alarm for Fire Calls as well as Storm warnings sound. City Clerk directed to contact the fire department to see if they can send out a reminder to the public of what the different whistles mean. All ayes, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fulwider, second by Miller to approve the building permits located at 200 Humboldt Ave and 201 2nd Street for fences. All ayes motion carried. Greg & Rebecca also had requested chickens on their property, this matter is tabled until the next regular council meeting.

A motion was made by Fulwider, second by Miller to approve the Application to the USDA for possible funding in the amount of 28,400 towards a Utility Tractor for the city. All ayes, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fulwider, second by Miller to approve Resolution 2022-3 “A Resolution to apply for financial assistance with the USDA of Agriculture” for a Utility Tractor/Safety Equipment authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign all documents. Roll Call: Miller, Fulwider, and Hasfjord all voting aye.

A motion was made by Miller, second by Hasfjord to approve an Assurance Agreement Form RD 400-4. All ayes, motion carried.

A motion was made by Hasfjord, second by Miller to approve an Assurance-Non-Construction programs form SF 424 B. All ayes, motion carried.

A motion was made by Fulwider, second by Miller to Set public hearing as July 25th at 5:30PM for the USDA Application for a Utility Tractor. All ayes, motion carried.

The council reviewed three bids for a Utility Tractor, government discounts were questioned. Todd will contact the applicants in regards to this matter.

Nuisance properties were discussed, letters have been sent to some properties; the council decided to check on the progress of these properties before further action is done.

A motion was made by Hasfjord, second by Miller to approve a 3% wage increase to the “as needed” or “on call” personnel. From 14.78 to 15.22 effective immediately. All ayes, motion carried.
